Amb. Dr Hassan Ardo Tukur (OFR)

Amb. Hassan Tukur is a renown Nigerian Diplomat committed to the developing economic ties among African countries.

Tukur was a member of the UN Election Team to Namibia that ensured SWAPO's victory to usher in Namibia's Independence. He was also in charge of d'Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Malabo, Equatorial Guinea who successfully guided negotiations on the Maritime Boundary Demarcation between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea leading to the signing of a Treaty between the two countries as well as the unitization of Zafiro/Ekanga oil fields, which will yield revenue of over $2 billion to Nigeria. This earned him a second National Honour from Equatorial Guinea.

He was actively involve in signing of the Joint Development Zone (JDZ) Treaty between Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principe (DRSTP)., a role that spurred him to be among the pioneer Directors that established the Nigeria-Sao Tome and Principe Joint Development Authority (JOA).

Tukur served as the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Unveiling and Rebranding Nigeria Initiative, he was also the Principal Secretary to the President, Senior Special Assistant to The President on Energy Partnership, Secretary National Energy Council, Special Assistant to the Honourable Minister of State for Foreign Affairs among others. Tukur was recently honoured with Honorary Doctorate Degree of the letters by the Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology, Ogbomosho, Oyo State for his support to educational development in Nigeria and Africa, He also holds Bsc in Political Science from Bayero Universsity University, Kano.
