GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATION FOR NEW CONNECTION

PRE-APPLICATION PROCESS

1.Intending consumer/ licensed Electrical Contractor desiring permanent service Connection at medium voltage (MV) shall have to submit own application using form 74 duly filled on-line or hard copy with following documents:

a) NEMSA or COREN registration certificate

2. A joint inspection licensed Electrical Contractor / KEDCO engineers at the premises to which supply of electricity is required shall have to be carried out within 3 days in case of urban areas and 7 days in case of rural areas from date of receipt of application from the intending consumer.

3. Licensed Electrical Contractor shall have to come to KEDCO office to collect permission letter. (Details of standard and specifications are stated)

4. Licensed Electrical Contractor shall obtain ROW permit from the relevant authority

5. In case of non approval a letter will be issued to the licensed electrical contractor informing him why his request cannot be approved and he must do to get the approval

6. With permission letter in hand, the contractor is now permitted to purchase and construct the line and the sub station

7. After completion of the construction, the contractor shall invite NEMSA for an inspection and certification of the project.

APPLICATION AND GRID CONNECTION

 
1. Licensed Electrical Contractor shall apply for final connection which must be done only when the customer is absolutely ready for connection, i.e when all the construction work must have been completed.
 
2. Meter shall be arrange and install by KEDCO
3. Pre-commissioning test and checks will be carried out and commissioned
